Iran Announces $30,000 Bounty for Killing or Capturing U.S. Troops
Iran’s military has announced a $30,000 reward for anyone who kills or captures a U.S. service member. The reward would be doubled if the claim is made by a woman, according to Iranian state media, as reported by Agence France-Presse (AFP) on Sunday.
Iranian Army Chief Amir Hatami said the program was launched after Iranians requested an opportunity to financially support such actions. However, he did not specify where or when attacks against U.S. troops were expected to take place.
There is currently no known deployment of U.S. ground forces inside Iran, apart from an April operation to rescue an American pilot whose aircraft had been shot down. The ongoing conflict has largely remained concentrated in southern Iran and around the Strait of Hormuz.
Meanwhile, Fox News Digital contacted the White House and U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) on Sunday morning for comment.
