FBI Raids Virginia Lawmaker’s Office in Expanding Corruption and Cannabis Probe
In a dramatic development in Virginia, FBI agents executed court-approved search warrants at the office of longtime state Senator L. Louise Lucas, a key ally of Governor Abigail Spanberger.
Federal law enforcement sources confirmed that the raid took place in Portsmouth on Wednesday. At the same time, agents also searched a cannabis dispensary believed to be connected to Lucas.
Sen. Lucas arrived at her office during the operation and told reporters she was unaware of the reason behind the FBI’s actions.
The investigation is reportedly focused on allegations of corruption and illegal cannabis sales. A cannabis business linked to Lucas had previously come under scrutiny after reports suggested that some products were mislabeled or exceeded legal THC limits, potentially violating Virginia law.
The development has added pressure on Governor Spanberger, who is already facing declining poll numbers and criticism from opponents accusing her of pushing a far-left agenda.
This is not the first time Lucas has faced controversy, as her business dealings have drawn attention in the past.
