Iran Announces Full Opening of Strait of Hormuz During Ceasefire

Iran’s Foreign Minister has declared that the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz will remain fully open to all commercial vessels for the duration of the ongoing ceasefire, offering a significant boost to global trade and energy markets.

According to official statements, the move aligns with a temporary ceasefire linked to the Israel–Lebanon conflict, which is expected to last around 10 days. Tehran emphasized that all ships can transit the waterway, provided they follow designated routes coordinated by Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization.

The Strait of Hormuz—one of the world’s most critical النفط shipping lanes—had faced severe disruptions in recent weeks due to escalating tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. Its reopening is being viewed as a key step toward stabilizing global oil supply chains and calming volatile energy markets.

Officials say the decision is part of broader diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the regional conflict, with international mediators working to extend the ceasefire and push toward a more permanent resolution. Early market reactions have been positive, with oil prices showing signs of easing amid renewed confidence in uninterrupted maritime flow.

However, Iran has maintained that navigation remains subject to coordination and compliance with its regulations, signaling that while the strait is open, it is still under close monitoring amid fragile regional stability.
