Cristiano Ronaldo, one of football’s most iconic figures, has confirmed that he will retire from the sport “soon,” citing family priorities as a major factor in his decision. During an interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored broadcast in the United Kingdom, the Portuguese star reflected on his remarkable career and his readiness for life after football.

“Soon,” Ronaldo said when asked about retirement. “I think I will be prepared. It will be very, very difficult. But I’ve been preparing for my future since I was 25 or 26 years old. Nothing compares to the adrenaline of scoring a goal, but everything in life has a beginning and an end.”

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who currently plays for Saudi club Al Nassr, has scored a record 952 goals in his career and previously stated that he hopes to reach 1,000 before hanging up his boots.

Ronaldo added that his retirement will allow him to dedicate more time to his family and children. “I’m going to have more time for myself, for my family, to raise my kids,” he said.

The former Manchester United star also expressed disappointment at the English club’s recent decline, saying, “I’m sad because Manchester United is one of the most important clubs in the world and one that I still have in my heart. They don’t have a proper structure. I hope that changes because the potential of the club is amazing.”
