Tehran, July 12, 2025 — Iran’s Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, declared on Friday that the Israeli military has been completely unsuccessful on Iranian territory and that Iran is currently in its strongest military position in recent memory.

He made these remarks during a memorial ceremony honoring Mohammad-Saeed Yazadi, a commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) Quds Force, who was recently killed in an Israeli drone strike.

General Mousavi said:

“Martyr Yazadi dedicated his entire life to jihad. His name will forever be remembered among the martyrs of Al-Quds, Palestine, and the resistance against the infamous Zionist regime.”

He further stated that Iran’s armed forces are fully prepared to fight any external enemies, and that their military capabilities are currently at an exceptional level.

Military Response and Counterattacks

On the same day, Iran’s Army Commander Major General Amir Hatami affirmed the military’s commitment to defending every inch of Iranian territory, warning that “no aggression will be tolerated.”

He stated:

“From June 13, Israel carried out airstrikes for 12 consecutive days targeting Iran’s military, nuclear, and residential areas. Then, on June 22, the United States struck Iran’s nuclear facilities in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan.”

In retaliation, Iran launched ‘Operation True Promise III’ through the IRGC’s Aerospace Division, firing 22 waves of missiles simultaneously at targets in occupied territories. Tehran claims the operation inflicted significant damage on Israeli positions.

Iran also launched missile attacks on the U.S. Al-Udeid base in Qatar, one of the largest U.S. military installations in the region, further escalating tensions between Iran and the United States.

Ceasefire in Effect

Following the large-scale counterattack, a ceasefire has been in effect since June 24, halting active hostilities for the time being. However, Iran has warned that any renewed aggression will be met with a full-force response.

Analysts suggest that the recent conflict has reshaped the security balance in the Middle East, with Iran emerging more confident and strategically assertive than before.
