President Donald Trump has directly called the rumor that highly enriched uranium was removed from Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility before the historic U.S. bunker-buster attack "baseless and misleading."
President Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social:
"Nothing was removed from the (Fordow) nuclear facility. It will take a long time. Very dangerous."
"These rumors are deliberately spread not to hide the truth, but to diminish America’s success."
Doubts about destruction at the nuclear facility?
The U.S. government has stated:
"There is no doubt about the extent of destruction after the attack on the Fordow facility."
"According to internal and international monitoring, the main facility’s operations have completely become non-functional."
Hagseth’s press conference: ‘Historic success’
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hagseth said at a formal press conference:
"Donald Trump led the most complex and secret military operation in history."
"In this operation, we destroyed Iran’s nuclear capability, and this success should be celebrated by Americans."
He further said:
"Some media are trying to downplay this attack by misinterpreting a preliminary internal Pentagon report. In reality, Iran’s nuclear program is effectively destroyed."
Controversy over the Pentagon report:
A leaked internal report claimed the U.S. strike only delayed Iran’s nuclear program by a few months.
However, Hagseth described the report as "preliminary and incomplete," and said:
"Some media are following a ‘political agenda’ to minimize Washington’s victory."
