Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has stated that Russia does not pose a real threat to NATO member states and dismissed the fears expressed by European countries.

Speaking to reporters during the ongoing NATO summit in The Hague, Netherlands, Orbán said:
“I don’t believe Russia is a genuine threat to us. We are far stronger than them.”

He further added that he does not believe Russia will attack any NATO territory before the end of this decade.

Analysts note that Orbán is widely regarded as Russian President Vladimir Putin’s closest ally in Europe. He has repeatedly taken pro-Russian stances on various international issues, including the war in Ukraine, setting him apart from other leaders within the European Union.

Orbán’s comments come at a time when other NATO leaders are expressing deep concern over potential Russian military aggression and are calling for a strengthening of the alliance’s defense posture.
