Budapest, March 30, 2025: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is visiting Hungary this week, despite the International Criminal Court (ICC) issuing an arrest warrant against him over war crimes allegations in Gaza. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has announced that Hungary will not enforce the arrest warrant.

Netanyahu's visit is scheduled from Wednesday to Sunday and is being made at the invitation of the Hungarian government. Orbán canceled the warrant after it was announced in November and stated that Hungary would not implement the ICC's decision.

Orbán, a nationalist leader who is often at odds with the European Union's democratic principles, has clearly stated that Hungary will not comply with the ICC's decision.

During this visit, Netanyahu is expected to seek support from Hungary for Trump's Gaza plan. According to sources, "Netanyahu is trying to gain as much support as possible from countries for Trump's plan for Gaza."

This is Netanyahu's second foreign trip since the ICC issued arrest warrants against him and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant. In February, he met with U.S. President Donald Trump.

Israel has rejected the charges against its leaders, calling them "false and absurd." The ICC has also issued an arrest warrant for Hamas leader Ibrahim al-Masri.
