Manobi steps into its 10th year after nine years of empowering women in Barishal through skills, entrepreneurship, training, and community initiatives.

Manobi, a Barishal-based organization focused on women’s empowerment, skills development and social initiatives, has stepped into its 10th year of operation, marking nearly a decade of work aimed at creating opportunities for women and young people in southern Bangladesh. Founded by Afsana Meem, Manobi began as a local initiative and has gradually expanded its activities into women’s entrepreneurship, professional skills development, financial literacy, career-oriented training and community service. Over the years, the organization has collaborated with different social and development organizations to conduct training and capacity-building programs in Barishal. Among its documented initiatives, Manobi partnered with Lightshore Foundation to organize training for women entrepreneurs on social media marketing, SEO and content creation. Another financial literacy initiative provided women entrepreneurs with practical knowledge on personal finance, investment decisions and small-business financial management. The organization has also worked to create career-oriented opportunities through its “Shonirvor Manobi” (স্বনির্ভর মানবী) initiative.
